Portion control and breastfeeding can only go so far, and I’ve hit a plateau with my weight loss. I was down about 40 pounds since Violet’s birth, but the last 10 were due to a nasty 4 day stomach bug and I gained most of them back, so I’m standing around 30 pounds total lost right now. Remember, less than 10 of that was pregnancy weight! That means I’m under my pre-pregnancy weight by about 20 pounds. YAY!
But I’ve reached a point where I have to add something else…exercise or more serious diet restrictions. Since diet restrictions can be risky when you’re nursing, I decided exercise is the better choice. I’ve heard a lot about the Couch to 5K program and it sounds doable, so I googled it this morning to read more about it. That led me here, which led me to a podcast site that helps you time the running/walking here. I’m trying to find a place to run that’s pretty level and safe even in the dark.
My biggest concern is when I’m going to have time to do this. I don’t have a jogging stroller that I can use for the littles, so that means I can only do it when my husband is home. Which isn’t often the time I’m motivated to do stuff like this! Hopefully that doesn’t mean I just quit like so many times before…
