So I got my application in several weeks ago, but I’m procrastinating on getting my transcripts ordered. Since that requires actual money and stamps, it’s not as easy for me. I need to get that done before Tuesday, so hopefully by the time Violet arrives I’m all accepted and can get to work on figuring out a schedule and do placement tests and stuff.
I love that the federal financial aid stuff is all available online now! I am not so thrilled that I have to have 2008′s tax return ready before I can complete it. Even with a husband doing tax prep, we’re necessarily limited by the fact that we haven’t received our tax forms yet. Hopefully they come early next month so we can file, get our refund, and I can get my financial aid application in. Until then, I’m in a holding pattern with the school stuff.
And hoping we somehow find the money for a laptop. Because there’s no way I can do this without one. Just when I was getting used to the portability of the laptop my brother loaned us, it died a miserable death. It suddenly quit charging and we tried replacing the cord but it still wouldn’t work. Some people suggested getting a new battery, but financially it didn’t make good sense and we weren’t entirely sure that was the problem. After spending a lot of money on the power cord only to find out that wasn’t the solution, we gave up trying to fix it. So I’m once again tied to my desk when I need to use a computer. And with Thing 1 and Thing 2 running amok in my house all the time (no doors on the office space) and the impending arrival of Thing 3, I’m going to need to be able to get a modicum of privacy somehow, even if it’s just going into my bedroom and shutting the door.
A fact that is clearly demonstrated right now as I try to convince Thing 2 to go play elsewhere for 5 minutes while I finish a thought so I can post this entry. It’s not going to happen so I’m giving up…
