The chocoholic returns!

27 Sep

I am a proud chocoholic.  I love chocolate in pretty much any form.  (Except perhaps chocolate liqueur, and we can chalk that one up to a very bad night in college where I thought it would be a good idea to drink nothing but Godiva liqueur.  Um, it’s not!)  So when I started feeling grossed out by chocolate early in my pregnancy, I knew something was not quite right.  Since then, it’s been off and on.  Some days I am all about some chocolate, some days I’d rather not smell it or even think about it.  It’s all very strange!

But now that my nausea is mostly gone and I once again can eat  (Boy can I eat…I have 4-5 small meals a day because I fill up fast but get hungry again soon after.) the chocolate desires have returned.  So this morning I’m off to Shops of Steele Street to see what Amy has.  It’s a splurge, but compared to other things I have a tendency to splurge on, a very small one.  I can taste it now…

Last night, the PTA at my daughter’s school had a basket raffle fundraiser, and one of the baskets was a wooden box about 4-feet-by-2-feet filled from top to bottom and side to side with all forms of chocolate. I wanted to put all my tickets on it, except that Jerry and Cera don’t eat chocolate, and I’m trying to lose weight. So I stood there salivating for a few minutes and then walked away. It was the toughest decision I’ve had to make in a while.

I was *so* good. Just got one chocograham. Of course, now I wish I had about 5 more! But I also got a spice packet for making cracked crab dip. I’ve been craving crab (of all things!) like you wouldn’t believe.

I am eating like a pig now because once baby V arrives I’m determined to lose some weight! I am very impressed that you were able to walk away. I’m not sure I’d have been able to.

My big inspiration … one of my friends has challenged me to run a 5K with her in November. I must get in shape … or I might die. Wish me luck :-)
