After my tough day yesterday and a little venting I felt a lot better. And then, the offers of help started to pour in. We’re going to be OK for a little bit longer. Thank you so much to everyone who’s been so generous. I can’t tell you how amazing it is and how much love we feel. I can’t wait to “pay it forward” when we’re back on our feet!
So I went to bed feeling better (again!) and that feeling has continued through the day, despite the fact that we had to run to the pediatrician for a croup diagnosis this morning with my 2 year old. He’s fine, but I didn’t want to let it go today, only for it to get worse and possibly end up in the ER over the weekend. I’ve never dealt with croup, so I wasn’t sure what to do but seeing the ped was the right call…he’s on a couple of days of orapred and should recover quickly! And thank God (or politicians?) for Medicaid. There was no co-pay for either the visit or the medicine. What a blessing for us right now! I couldn’t believe that we owed absolutely nothing for all of that.
In honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day, I have one last thought.
The pirate speaks,”There’s a concert tonight in Depot Park. Probably everyone will go t’ t’ football game, but when given t’ choice me 5 year old (who be distraught over t’ idea o’ havin’ t’ next 3 weeks off o’ school) picked t’ concert. So if you need somethin’ t’ do and football isn’t your thin’ consider this instead. It’s free, starts at 7PM and will feature blues music. Hope t’ see you thar!”

Hmmm…my two year old woke up during the night with a croup-y cough and has a slight (normal) cough today. My niece has had croup episodes in the past, so I immediately recognized it and grabbed the cool mist humidifier.
Glad to see that you recognized “Talk Like A Pirate Day”. I noticed it on my calendar on September 1 and thought it was so funny!
