I mentioned my fall yesterday, right? I was trying to step over the gate that keeps my toddler out of the kitchen while I was talking on the phone. Apparently I am no longer capable of walking and talking at the same time, because I didn’t clear the gate and ended up falling HARD on my knees and hitting my elbow on the cabinet. And in the process, knocked paint off of the cabinets AND the opposite wall. (Sorry, D. I guess we need to find some touch up paint…or maybe we can just repaint this whole gigantic room since I hate the color anyway???) Oh, and the toddler may have picked up a new inappropriate word (or 2 or 3) as well. So all in all, a perfect example of why my name is not Grace.
Anyway, today I am in terrible pain. I can’t even lay down on the couch because if I try to rest my knees sideways I’m in agony. Every time I brush up against something with my elbow, I want to cry, it hurts so bad. My back hurts and I have shooting pains in my abdomen. It’s similar to the round ligament pains you get during pregnancy but since I’m not pregnant, I guess I pulled a muscle somewhere in the course of my not so graceful landing. All of this is only enhanced by the queasiness and dizziness I’m feeling due to some new medications I’m trying to get used to. (Do you hear that, D? I’m taking them so you can leave me alone now!) It’s probably a miracle I can still walk at all!
