Last night my husband asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day. I always have a loooooooooooong list of things I want and most of them are ridiculously expensive so I don’t even bother asking anymore. But just because I can, here’s a list of things I’d *really* like but won’t get because we can’t afford them.
1. A Wii along with the WiiFit “game.”
2. A pink Palm Centro with the Sprint Simply Everything Plan.
3. A new lens for my camera.
4. A pink laptop.
5. A maid.
Since I know I won’t get any of those, I asked instead for some time this weekend to get a pedicure and a brow wax, both of which are way overdue and very desperately needed. I mentioned that I needed some large coffee mugs to keep up with my disturbing new Senseo habit and that I’d like some new pods for it as well. (For those who have one, Target has pods that fit the Senseo and they had a good variety! I got some decaf French Vanilla.) I also asked for some cake truffles because that is the only way I’ll ever get them. I refuse to buy stuff like that for myself because we ALL know the calories don’t count if someone else buys it and gives it to you as a gift!
Seriously though, I don’t need anything. I think it’s great to honor mothers and all we do, but for *me* the honor is in simply being a mother to these 2 awesome kids. Even though I complain a lot about them, they are the best things that ever happened to me. Really, how lucky am I?
